Conservative Roly Holsten won reelection in the state senate in a close race. Skeate, elected to his 10th term in the house, was aided by strong labor and senior citizen support from the northern part of the district which includes the University area, southeast and parts of northeast Minneapolis. Brandt was elected to his second term. In the senate race, Holsten, who ran well in the primary, kept a 200-vote edge over DFL-endorsed James Ferrara. . . ." |
