Many thanks to Joe Stimart who passed away in 2010 for sharing these photos of his father's shoe shop with the neighborhood. Joe's father, Herman, died in the mid-1930's, when Joe was only 12 years old. The shoe shop was located at 2201 Como Ave SE on the NE corner of 22nd & Como Aves SE (the site of the Como Corner community garden).
